    Does it work on scanned PDFs?

    No — this basic converter reads the text layer. Scanned pages have no text; use the statement converter (with OCR) for scanned bank statements.

    How are columns detected?

    Text on the same line is split into cells wherever there is a wide gap. Check the preview — complex tables may need a little tidying in Excel.

    Are my files safe?
