    Questions

Can the blacked-out text be recovered?

No. Every page with a box is turned into an image with the box burned in, so there is no hidden text layer left underneath. Pages without boxes are kept exactly as they were.

Can I still search the redacted pages?

Not the redacted pages — they become images. Run them through our OCR tool afterwards if you need them searchable (the boxed text stays hidden).

    Are my files safe?

Yes. Files you process with our free tools are handled privately — they are never stored, shared or used for anything else, and nothing is kept after you leave the page.
